Lake Craftsman

The Lake Craftsman style is identified with steeply pitched gable roofs with embellished trusses at the apex, bracketed overhanging eaves, exposed rafter tails, and diagonal or curved porch support braces. Due to an abundance of local lumber and most appropriate for wooded locations like Blackridge, the exterior cladding is nearly always wood siding, but can also be applied vertically or diagonally to contrast the more common horizontal pattern. Siding is framed with raised bands to emphasize façade geometry. Gable and tower finials, diagonal stickwork, and corner boards are common elaborations on Lake Craftsman architecture.
