Landscape
The landscape philosophy at Blackridge is to restore nature to all areas that have been disturbed by construction and minimize the impact of built structures. Native trees, plants, wildflowers, and vegetation are to remain or be transplanted whenever possible. The natural environment of Blackridge calls for plantings and landscaping to be irregular and informal. Masses of indigenous perennial plantings are encouraged, while formal rows of mulched annuals and tightly clipped hedges are only allowed sparingly in thoughtful locations. After years of growth, the woodlands damaged during construction will reestablish and give the presence of each house nestled into the rural Blackridge landscape.
