Mountain Cottage
The Mountain Cottage style is defined by story-and-a-half to two story houses with deep wrap-around, covered porches supported by simple columns. Regular column and window bay spacing beneath dual pitched or hipped roofs are essential to the style. Rural traditions of the Mountain Cottage style apply high masonry foundations with the main porch raised on masonry piers. Due to simple forms and characteristics of this style, correct and operable shutters on windows and doors are recommended.
